Introverts Side Hustle

What do you do to be involved in the community?

What I do to be involved in my community is volunteer.

Seriously. It has been my most favourite and most accomplished thing in all of my working life.

Need a good job? Volunteer get to know people, use your manners, smile, engage and wha la! Somebody is interested in you or you have something in common and it opens doors to conversations you thought you’d never have.

New to a town, city, a community? Volunteer.

You will meet, be seen, and get familiar with the culture and may be find a new emergency contact, for your job applications or you may meet a new coffee buddy.

Now if you tend towards people pleasing you might wanna set some boundaries so you don’t burn out. Because free time isn’t really free if you work, play, have kids, a partner etc. etc.

Your time cannot be paid in dollars it is paid with deeply satisfying our human tendency to want help one another.

Trust me once you find one board or committee that enjoys you or wants to work with you. Others will start showing up so you’ll have options.

I chose an Arts for Youth program in my community and MS Canada.

I also might do the rodeo mile committee time permitting. Lots of fun , and it was a friend from another committee/board who asked me if I wanted to join! Easy peasy, and fun for my family if they decide to join me.

May the altruistic individuals rise and show the timid and/or clueless how it’s done.

Cheers to all volunteers out there may your Thanksgiving be peaceful and warm💜
