What is this pill that I am on?
I can’t seem to stop taking it.
Addiction turned into blood;
for those that follow.
The world wasn’t supposed to look this way;
I had such hope and ended up alone.
My hopes, my dreams crunching softly under my feet;
all the lies I refused to see through eyes of love.
As soiled laundry piles up around me;
day after day, just work hard they said.
Smile and let me explain this to you;
your voice better not speak truth;
You must our hide our inequities.
We will numb your fear as you keep crossing that line;
god will make you right he says you were born wrong and you are sin.
Something so full of joy and innocence will become a burden;
as she steps outa line.
We will shame your youth;
reminding you of the imperfections you
didn’t know you have to hide.
