Long Weekend Fun

What a great Victoria Day Weekend! Long Lake Provincial Park did not disappoint. We camped for five days and four nights and it cost 4 adults and 3 kids about $93/night for powered sites. Not bad with all the park had to offer. We were sad to have been a week or so to soon for kayak rentals. May be, looking back now, that was a blessing, that lake water was a little cold still. The camp sites went super fast! I was lucky my good friend got us all booked in over a month ago, otherwise we wouldn’t have had this exsilerating experience.

My daughter learned to ride her two wheeler, such an amazing memory for her and I. The scenery was stunning and untouched. I was able to get in a some exercise in the form of jogging, hiking and my personal favorite, yoga. The girls enjoyed the parks and beaches. We walked the trails and got ice cream at the concession. We also enjoyed a small farmers market where the girls got a stuffy as a treat. This is defiantly a place I would recommend to campers and out door enthusiasts especially if you want to include your family and friends.

There are tons of camp sites both for tenting and powered, plus shower houses for those that need a shower while out there. It is very clean and some sites are right on the the lake front. There is fishing and boat docks available. There is something for everyone. Next year I will return with my bike too, so I can feel the breeze whip past me as I race down the trails with my daughter. This was my most favorite way to bring in Albertas’ warm season. Now I must tackle all of the laundry that goes with it!
